The crematorium is an impressive new building architecturally striking, designed to sit in harmony with the surrounding landscape. Every element has been thoughtfully considered to create a calm, contemporary environment that complements the natural beauty of Sewardstone Park.
Once complete, it will offer the local community a modern, environmentally responsible cremation facility built around comfort, respect, and care continuing our long-standing commitment to serving families of all faiths and beliefs with dignity.
Design & Architecture
Designed to be both beautiful and respectful of its setting, the new crematorium reflects a thoughtful balance between contemporary design and natural harmony.
The architecture takes inspiration from the tones and textures of the surrounding landscape, featuring natural materials, cedar cladding, and soft, neutral colours that blend seamlessly into the environment.
Inside, a light-filled chapel will provide a tranquil and uplifting space for services. The generous windows, framing views across the park, provide a lovely ambiance. The layout has been carefully planned to offer comfort and privacy for families, with private rooms and landscaped courtyards for reflection.
Every detail from the proportions of the building to the materials used has been designed to create a sense of calm and timeless respect.

Ceremonial Building
Alongside the new crematorium, our Ceremonial Building continues to offer a beautiful and intimate alternative for smaller gatherings. The Ceremonial Building provides a serene setting for funerals, memorial services, and family gatherings, accommodating up to 60 guests.
Together, the Crematorium and Ceremonial Building will give families a choice between larger, contemporary surroundings or a more personal, intimate setting - both rooted in the natural beauty and spirit of Sewardstone Park.
Daws Meadow Burial Ground
As part of the wider Sewardstone Park grounds, Daws Meadow provides a natural and tranquil complement to the new crematorium and ceremonial facilities. Together, these spaces form a single setting where every stage of farewell - from service to committal - can take place in one peaceful location.
