What payment options do you offer?
We provide a range of payment options. Bank transfer is the most straightforward method. We can also supply a payment link for debit card payments. We accept credit card payments too but please note that a 1% fee applies to these.
Full payment is due before the day of the funeral.
How long are the grave lease terms?
Our standard lease term is 50 years and is represented in our price table. An optional extended term can be purchased by agreement, as can future lease term extensions.
What happens to the grave if the lease expires?
If the lease were allowed to expire the leaseholder would relinquish any right to the grave, and memorials may be removed. Any remaining space in the grave might also be used for future burial.
Do you offer payment plans for pre-purchase?
We offer a 10 month payment plan, on completion of which you would receive an official deed for your safe keeping. Please contact our team if this is of interest to you.
What are your long-term plans for the cemetery?
From the outset, our vision has been to create a sanctuary where the timeless beauty of nature at Sewardstone intertwines with the commemoration of life. We believe that by taking care of the natural environment we can best provide families with a fitting place for remembrance and reflection.
The 70 acres of Sewardstone Park Cemetery are testament to our philosophy and to our deep-rooted belief in service to our communities. Our natural cemetery can be divided into two zones: Daws Meadow and the Garden of Firdaus. Daws Meadow provides burial and cremation options for all faiths and secular preferences. The Garden of Firdaus is a dedicated Islamic burial ground.
Currently, we have a small barn in Daws Meadow that accommodates up to 50 people for intimate services. We offer both full burial and ashes graves on our premises. Additionally, within this barn, we can conduct 'Cremation Services' which include the cremation fee.
The funeral director will oversee the service at our barn and subsequently entrust the deceased to us. We then arrange transportation through a private vehicle to a nearby crematorium where the cremation takes place without family attendance. Afterward, we collect the ashes and make them available for the family's retrieval at our cemetery.
We are dedicated to maintaining the beauty and sanctity of this unique place for generations to come.
Is Sewardstone Park Cemetery accessible?
We want to be welcoming and accessible to all families and friends who wish to pay their respects to loved ones and experience the serenity of our 70 acres.
Our Ceremonial Building is fully accessible and contains an accessible toilet with a pull-cord alarm.
The natural setting and ecology of our green cemetery means that some terrain is challenging to access. Please contact us for assistance.
